Three class action lawsuits have been filed in Canada against Japanese auto parts maker Takata and its US subsidiary over faulty airbags.

The plaintiffs are seeking a total of 1.9 billion dollars in damages. The company says the suits were filed in November and December.

Takata said in a statement that it will respond appropriately after looking at the plaintiffs’ complaints.

The company has revised its estimated loss for the current business year to about 260 million dollars due to extra charges for the airbag replacement recall.

Takata says more lawsuits could be filed against the company.
