The 2008 “world crisis” seems to be only a western problem, since Africa first trading partner became China development started to affect positively the continent.

This is the incredible transformation of Uyo city, in the Nigerian state of Akwa Ibom (Nigeria is a federation). Akwa Ibom governor since 2007, Godswill Akpabio is managing well the oil moneys and he’s investing in infrastructures, industries and education.

For who’s wondering: this is not a Chinese built city.

East African geothermal energy was untapped, but since the start of the Economic Boom several geothermal power plants started to pop out to provide power to the people, from Ethiopia to Rwanda.

Africa with China ep. 3 | Angola Rising

The 2008 “world crisis” seems to be only a western problem, since Africa first trading partner became China development started to affect positively the continent.

Angola experienced an incredible rise since 2002, the year of the end of the Civil War that lasted 28 years.

During the civil war Apartheid South Africa and Portugal fought against Angola and his dependency from the West, and in the last phase the only fighter was a US backed rebel group.

Angola won and now its main allies are China, Brazil and Russia. In the next 10 years the country will be between the richest of Africa, together with Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt and Kenya.

Africa with China ep.4 | Ethiopia invests 10% of its GDP on infrastructures

Over the past decade, Ethiopia’s economy has evolved to become the largest non-oil exporting economy in Africa.
It is also one of the top ten fastest growing economies in the world.
According to a World Bank report, Ethiopia averaged 10.6% GDP growth per year between 2004 and 2011. This compares to a 5.2% GDP growth in Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole.
