Hillary Clinton Mixes Up Words In Calling To Ban Criminal History Question

In a keynote speech given to the Charleston, S.C. NAACP, Hillary Clinton recognized the challenges that former prisoners face when looking for jobs after their release.

“Every year, hundreds of thousands of prisoners re-enter society. That’s the good news. They paid their debt. They’re free. But then what happens? They look for a job. Everywhere they go, doors are shut in their faces. That starts all over again a cycle of poverty and hopelessness that too often can lead to more crime.”

Mrs. Clinton mixed up her words when she said that she supports banning the criminal history box on job applications.

“Earlier today, I announced that as president, I will take steps to ban the box so former presidents won’t have to declare their criminal history at the very start of the hiring process.”

Of course, Clinton meant “former prisoners” but the gaffe is ironic given the current FBI investigation into her private email server.
