There are some good videos on the web about rocket stove construction but very few emphasize all the key points that makes rocket heaters work. This is DIY for the regular guy. This is a step by step using standard fire brick.

This is the first of 2 videos about a Rocket Mass Heater I am building. This is the longer one that describes the steps I took in its construction. A later video will come that shows it in operation. I got ideas from the following videos:

I don’t have a construction skill set so I am learning as I go. Made my first concrete on this build. I have done some woodworking and have read up on building molds for concrete counter tops in the past. Certain things would have been easier with a 55 gal oil drum, but this is a learning project and I had a 15 gallon one available for free. I originally thought to do a 4″ system, but after much research opted for a 6″ since it solved a lot of potential problems for me.
