How to make a simple solar cooker to understand the use of solar energy
A solar cooker is a device which is used to cook food directly under sun light without using Gas, LPG or electricity. It’s a clean process of outdoor cooking. There are two types of cooker, box type and parabolic type. The later one is more efficient.
We make our own solar cooker out of a cardboard box of 235mm x 235mm x 140mm in size. We used five pieces of thermocol inside the box as insulator as show in the video. Sizes were, 230mm x230mm x30mm one pieces, 200x110x10mm two pieces and 225x110x10mm two pieces. For top we have used a 4mm thick glass of 230mm x 230mm. The reflector on top of the box was 470mmx235mm big.

Ever wanted to learn how to make a solar oven, but have never known how? Well, now you can with the steps laid simply out in this video!
A list of all the supplies you’ll need:
-Two large, cardboard boxes—the inner box should be about 18 x 20 inches, and the outer one should be a couple inches bigger on each side (so about 20 X22 inches)
-corrugated cardboard for the lid (so about 4 inches longer and wider than the outer box)
-window glass or plexi-glass a couple inches bigger than the inner box, but smaller than the outer box
-a thin, black metal sheet. You can buy a regular metal sheet and then paint it black. It should be barely smaller than the inner box so that it can fit on the bottom
