Homemade swimming pool solar rings from http://mikethepoolman.com
These were made by one of my customers to prevent evaporation. I like his better than mine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYrNT…) because you don’t see the rings are PVC squares. Great idea and even less expensive using irrigation drip line!

Can I build my own pool? Yes, you can! Subcontracting the build of your own swimming pool is not rocket science. At INYOpools.com, we have seen a huge trend in homeowners building their own swimming pools. When most people think of building their own pool, they think that they would be like the professional pool contractor out digging the hole for the pool, doing the plumbing and electrical, etc.- but this is not the case. Most pool contractors do not do the actual labor of building the pool themselves. Pool builders act as general contractors (GC) and subcontract the building of the pool to various subcontractors (subs), so when you purchase a pool from your local pool company, they are organizing the build of your pool through subs.

How to make a water slide for less than $100 (please read film description & see new footage)
We did it for less than $100! For blueprints, see here: https://youtu.be/AJu5X79PeZs Detailed instructions may be found below, by clicking the show more button. Please see our $200 garden house:http://youtu.be/8TD9SQ33H8w We just bought the slide, the rest is made from: old ladder, garden hose with accessories, wire, stones and concrete dug out from the pool hole. It’s major fun, esp. since it’s self made! Want to see us ride it or see more of the pool at night or in winter? Look at:https://youtu.be/xzVudyKTDRk and http://youtu.be/rbQ_hTE7vA4 and http://youtu.be/4GqLgLI6l0s andhttp://youtu.be/PZvO6fvU2Pk and http://youtu.be/y5zx2WyQdz0 and http://youtu.be/nLKTlZKstNE
FULL INSTRUCTIONS:
(1) Find the appropriate pool size unless you already have one (our’s is made from fiberglass). The pool price may vary according to the country of purchase. Our small pool is approx. 4.5m3 and cost $350. Everything was selfmade, i.e. the pool hole was dug out by hand; concrete underneath the soil was broken down by a drill hammer (the pieces were kept for the next steps); at the bottom of the hole we poured out self-levelling cement and a thin layer of styrofoam insulation. The filter pump which we installed on our own was a typical inflatable pool INTEX A type pump which works nicely for this size of pool (costs around $25-30, yes – thirty dollars).
(2) We bought 3 bags of cement and made the walls from the bigger blocks of concrete from the pool hole which serve as support for the slide. Inside we placed a garden hose with a 2-way splitter for a double-stream effect on the slide.
(3) The old alu-ladder was cut at the top and the aluminium was pulled to each opposite side to make it look like handles. We then painted it brown and placed it in the ground, levelled it and fixed the 4 supports in cement. We placed few wooden blocks on the top ladder floor and screwed them tightly. We also built a third concrete wall from the side the ladder steps are.
(4) We filled the walls with smaller bits and pieces of concrete from the pool hole, being careful not to bend/tear the water hose inside.
(5) We bought the blue slide for $50. Drilled holes in it for the garden hoses which were affixed by steel wire in the top part and then screwed the slide solid to the wooden blocks at the top of the ladder.
(6) The slide turned out to be very slippery when wet. The member depicted sliding in the videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbQ_h…
weighs 85kg+ and the slide is totally OK with that weight.
(7) The slide and accessories itself cost no more than $90. We did it ourselves, though. It does not include the pool ($350) and filter pump price ($30). Water price per cubic metre in Poland is approx.$2-3, so to fill the pool up would cost somewhere in the vicinity of $10-12.
(8) The last steps involved decorations with greenery, lamps, wooden platform and stones (additional but optional costs).
(9) Cheap, yet very much fun!!! Please see us ride it: http://youtu.be/rbQ_hTE7vA4
