Hello beautiful people,

First I want to clarify that I am not a naysayer. I have been into this journey with you for a few years and I alway keep an open mind.

I have been trying to figure out how to do this TDA in Canada. I have looked into what I could find but I felt I needed more info. I went on this website every one is talking about https://www.treasurydirect.gov I assumed it was for the US only but I thought I would play with it for fun [there is a fine line between Canada and the US government, specially when it comes to certain departments]. To my surprise as I entered my SIN and I stayed within the parameters of the bond type (EEBond issued between 01/1980-07/2017, IBond issued between 05/1999-01/2008…) I was getting $$$ amounts.

I got exited and realized it was a very generous port folio. At one point, by accident, I entered a single digit in the window where to put the SIN and I got $$$ amounts. I thought it was peculiar so I tried entering aaa, bbb, ccc in the Bound Serial Number window [see screenshot attached] and I still got $$$ amounts…HUMMMM! It looks to me that it’s built to give you what ever as long as you stay within the perimeters.

That doesn’t seam a real thing to me. If anyone has a good explanation I would like to know what’s going on with this. Because if this website is just a random $$$ amount generator and lots of people are relying on this to move forward we are mislead and it put this whole TDA in question for me. I am also concern that this website is a front to collect personal info.

I would very much like to get some opinions on this.
