Eight European Union nations are underlining their opposition to Israel’s planned demolition of the illegally-built Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar and are urging its government to reconsider the decision.

The eight countries are France, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Italy. They say in the statement that they “will not give up on a negotiated two-state solution with Jerusalem as a capital” of both Israel and a new Palestinian state.
That was an implicit slap at US President Donald Trump’s declaration in December that contested Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
Israel claims the village, an encampment of corrugated shacks outside the Kfar Adumim settlement, was illegally built and has offered to resettle residents 12 kilometers, about 7 miles, away. But critics say it’s impossible for Palestinians to get building permits and that the demolition is meant to make room for an Israeli settlement
The three HCJ judges hearing the appeal said they were presented no evidence to warrant overturning the previous verdict and there was no question over the illegality of the construction on the site.
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman lauded the judges for their “brave” ruling.
“No one is above the law. No one can stop us from implementing our sovereignty and responsibility as a state,” he said.
Immediatedly after the HCJ decision, an EU statement was published criticizing the planned demolition.
“The EU and its Member States have repeatedly stated their long-standing position on Israel’s settlement policy, illegal under international law, and actions taken in that context, including the demolitions of Palestinian communities and (possible) forced transfers of population,” the statement said.
“The community of Khan al-Ahmar is located in a sensitive location in Area C, of strategic importance for preserving the contiguity of a future Palestinian state.
On September 13, Israeli security forces dismantled several shacks built by Palestinian protesters near Khan al-Ahmar.

I know people from Honduras and people that currently live in Honduras…it isnt like that all over the country. That is like saying Illinois is a war zone because Chicago is….it just isnt true.

Hillary Clinton should stay quiet, says NYT board member
New York Times board member Michelle Cottle wrote a piece called ‘Hillary Clinton’s Master Class in Distraction,’ which advises Hillary to keep quiet and not electrify the GOP base.
“Her clumsy comments about civility and Lewinsky, however, demonstrate that she is off her game. This kind of clumsiness reminds the electorate of why Hillary couldn’t win the 2016 election, even when so many factors were working in her favor,” McCall said. “There must be recognition [inside the Times] that the visibility of the old Democrat guard could make campaigning difficult for the Democrat up-and-comers.”

‘Halloween’ Billboard Hijacked to Target Maxine Waters
Sabo, a conservative street artist, swapped a photo of killer Michael Myers and replaced it with the congresswoman. A billboard advertising the new Halloween movie opening Friday was altered after a street artist swapped out an image of serial killer Michael Myers and replaced it with one of Maxine Waters. The gigantic billboard at Pico Boulevard in West Hollywood remains intact, only the congresswoman is now holding the sharp butcher knife in her right hand, looking ready to plunge it into an unsuspecting victim. The phrase “#Uncivil Democrats” has also been added.
It will be interesting to see how long the work of this “conservative” street artist is allowed to remain.
Sabo tells The Hollywood Reporter that the text he added to the advertisement is a reference to Waters telling a crowd in June to make things uncomfortable for President Donald Trump and his Cabinet members. “If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters said at a rally in Los Angeles. “You push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
It is interesting to me to see how many see this as unacceptable. Protesting is one thing, harassment is another. IMO a lot of the things done recently are harassment
If kathy Griffin can hold a severed and bloody trump head and snoop dogg can shoot trump in a music video, then a street artist putting Waters’ face on a billboard should be tolerated as well. #GetOverIt
