Sunday is also very holy in the Muslim community. Saturday evening till Sunday morning it is Laylat al Barat. A holy night for prayers and fasting on Sunday !

So, why is it called a full “Pink Moon?”

According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, in ancient times people used to track the seasons through a lunar calendar, so names were given to recurring full moons to mark the change in season.

April’s full moon was named the full “Pink Moon,” because it coincided with the blooming of “moss pink” or wild ground phlox — a bright pink wildflower, one of the first flowers of spring.
But will the moon actually appear pink?

Sadly, no. The moon will not take on a pink color, but will rather appear like any other full moon. It may be a yellowish color, or a brighter golden-orange once it nears the horizon.

This year, April’s full Moon is also connected to Easter. It’s what’s known as the Paschal Full Moon—the full Moon that determines Easter’s date.

Here’s the basic rule for finding the date:

Easter is observed on the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first full Moon that occurs on or after the Vernal Equinox.

Which Full Moon is Nearest to Easter?

The full Moon nearest to Easter can change. Sometimes, it’s the full Moon which falls in March and sometimes it’s the full Moon which falls in April.

Both tonight (April 18) and tomorrow (April 19), you’ll see a round full-looking Moon.

The tradition of market closures on Good Friday is notable in that it is the only day of the year when markets will be closed on a day that is not a federal holiday.

The New York Stock Exchange has been closed on the Friday before Easter every year since 1889, with exceptions in 1906 and 1907, according to an NYSE spokeswoman

The market closure comes as stock-market investors are wading into first-quarter earnings season and following one of the best starts to the year for large U.S. companies. Year-to-date, the S&P 500 SPX, +0.16% has gained nearly 16%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.42% has added nearly 14%, and the Nasdaq COMP, +0.02% climbed 20.5%, as of Thursday’s close.

Easter Sunday: Easter is on Sunday, April 21 this year (2019)

Easter is one of the most well-known holidays in modern times, and just like Christmas, Easter is celebrated by Christians and non-Christians alike.

When you think of the Easter holiday different things may come to mind: church services, crosses draped in purple, outreach activities, spring weather, Easter egg hunts and painting eggs, filling baskets with candy and small gifts, and possibly the Easter bunny.

Because of the mixture of gospel celebration and commercialism, Easter is celebrated under different definitions by a variety of people all over the world.
