A Porsche Cayenne SUV entering Canada from Washington State accelerated to a incredible speed before slamming into a Toyota Sienna Van causing multiple fiery explosions. Both vehicles involved in the crash had been cleared for entry into Canada, said Nancy Pham of the Canadian Border Services Agency. Sgt. Chad Greig of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said two vehicles crashed around 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes of the freeway about 300 yards north of the Canadian border. A number of witnesses said they are too shaken to speak to media, however, one reported hearing at least five “explosions,” Hinks said from the scene. “Lots of smoke and then saw flames, then more explosions, then more flames,” the witness told Hinks. The witness also reported seeing one person taken from the scene in handcuffs. In a statement released just after 1 p.m. Friday, police say efforts are ongoing to identify the deceased driver of the Toyota Sienna van that caught fire after a Porsche Cayenne SUV plowed into it in the Canadian northbound border-traffic lanes. The border was closed in both directions for about two hours; southbound traffic reopened before 2 p.m. Thursday, according to an RCMP Mounties have only said it’s too early to determine a cause and called this a complex investigation.

At least 15 people, including six children, were killed in a blast during the nighttime raid, which was linked to the Easter bombings.
