New Research Report on HCQ Repeats Old Disinfo, Falsely Framing Hydroxychloroquine as Ineffective & Deadly for COVID Treatment

The use of invalid “junk” science to promote views on controversial subjects is fairly common. Currently there is a study released about the medication HCQ (Hyydroxychloroquine) being used on COVID patients in hospitals and reported to be ineffective and a cause of deaths among patients. What isn’t discussed is that HCQ was generally used in hospitals early in the pandemic only after the flawed regular hospital protocols had failed to help patients, so it was usually the more severely ill patients with more advanced cases of illness who were given HCQ.
Thus those patients were more likely to die perhaps because they were more severely ill than patients who weren’t given HCQ.Physicians using HCQ successfully (such as Dr. Zelenko) were finding it helpful when used in early stages of illness and combined with zinc, vitamin C, and other therapeutics. HCQ is a synthetic medicine based upon the natural quinine compound which helps the body uptake zinc to prevent viruses from infecting cells. There are multiple plant compounds that have that therapeutic effect. Using HCQ without adequate zinc would likely have minimal effect.Thus, the manner in which HCQ was applied in hospitals was often inappropriate and not likely to benefit the patients, while the patients were severely ill and ended up dying due largely to the other hospital protocols used, not HCQ. Rather than providing this context the research is presented to make a case that HCQ is ineffective and deadly when applied for COVID care, when the clinical experience and evidence from those using it as part of a combination early intervention find the opposite result.
