When I watched the satellite rendition of Beryl as it passed over the Yucatan Peninsula and moved northeast toward Houston, TX I thought to myself, “It looks like it has a mind of its own.” It almost regrouped with intention instead of dissipating as they normally do after making landfall.

Dateline Houston: Centerpoint still has not restored power to a million or so homes/businesses. Hunting for gas is an adventure in some parts of the city. There will be more “casualties” we fear. Triple digit temps when Heat Index (or whatever it is called) us factored in. Mold concerns, also.
Addendum to last comment: Beryl’s wind was unbelievable. Block after block, especially in cul-de-sacs, littered with tree branches and fallen trees. Harvey had its (and plenty for Beryl, too) water, but Beryl’s winds almost appears to have had a PRESENCE, and an angry one at that.

What we got in terms of wind and rain was definitely a CAT 2, and actually worse in terms of wind and rain than Ike. Ike was all about the storm surge, which I was right in the middle of when it came in. Harvey was all about the relentless rain for 3 plus days. What was weird was that hardly anyone’s power went off until the storm was almost all the way through and over with. The bigger issue was that they held off the power repair trucks coming in for a day and a half before any repairs began. That’s your story.”

I need to make a correction to an earlier post, as well. In the, “It’s About to Go Down” post I suggested folks download the Signal app for communication when everything else goes down. I compared it to Facetime when what I meant was, “What’sApp”. It’s nothing like Facetime.
We’ve talked about the spying that goes on via our tablets, TVs, and phones, but someone actually called the Apple version the Mini “Eye Phone”, which I thought very appropriate. I didn’t have any personal experience with spirits until about fifteen years ago when attending a small personal development seminar in Ontario, California. We had a campfire and did some ceremonial stuff one night and apparently one particularly “open” member named Sixto from New York was suddenly possessed by a coyote spirit.
I met Sixto for the first time in our lectures. We both had significant others but we had a weird connection and everyone saw it. One of the leaders who knew both of us said it wasn’t surprising, considering… whatever that means.
Anyway, we were doing a circular exercise around the fire with two lines of people moving in opposite directions, facing the other line. When Sixto got to me he was completely different than I’d seen him before. He had an intensity opposite to his usual, gentle self and he leaned in close to my ear and spoke emphatically and almost threateningly in tongues I’d never heard before in a way that wasn’t to be expected in the task we were performing. It was like a lecture; a strong, personal reprimand—angry even, with spit flying. I didn’t know it was not Sixto and it was a little frightening.
The group leaders had to do an “exorcism” and clean out the spirit with a sage smudge, etc. Whoa! And then Sixto was back and I can’t recall if he said he was aware of what happened. Sixto has left this plane but I thank him for that eye-opening experience. He was a great guy. And Paul, too. Thank you for leading a terrific weekend.
So, I have living proof that spirits can jump into an adult body and take over, unbidden. I imagine it can be done very easily if its invited. It’s not fiction and we need to be careful about seeking out spirits of any kind. We have to know what we’re doing.
And that wasn’t all from that evening around the fire. I just remembered as I was writing this that the next morning a team leader showed us a photo someone took that evening and we could clearly see several—maybe six or more—American Indians in their traditional robes standing close together, lit only by the firelight. It was mind-blowing. Cameras can pick up things in the spectrums our eyes cannot see and it seems our activities had summoned more than one spirit. Aho!
