What’s interesting are some recent SCOTUS cases… but this is one of the most important ones… • Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo (2024) – Part of the decision to overturn Chevron deference established in 1984. This case directly impacts how courts view agency authority in interpreting statutes, which would include health-related statutes like the PREP Act. Although this case does not directly amend or rule on the PREP Act itself, what’s important is that it sets the legal framework within which the PREP Act’s implementation and challenges could be adjudicated. The overturning of Chevron deference, in particular, will lead to a FLOOD in litigation questioning agency interpretations of the PREP Act, which I am 100% certain will change how its immunity provisions are enforced or challenged in court. Perhaps the courts in Canada are turning around like the Supreme Court in America.
The Canada Revenue Agency is demanding corrective action from the Muslim Association of Canada’s (MAC), in relation to alleged links to terrorist groups and other issues, or it will lose its charitable status, according to documents obtained by Le Journal de Montréal’s investigation bureau.
The MAC unsuccessfully fought in court to prevent the documents, the results of a years-long audit, from being made public by the newspaper. The organization also sought in court months ago to keep court evidence, including the audit, sealed, saying their release would threaten the dignity and safety of MAC members and all Canadian Muslims. The Ontario Court of Appeal ruled against the MAC.

centres in Montreal, including a community centre in the borough of St. Laurent, which is also the location of the Al-Rawdah mosque.
I’m still seeing a lot of glitchy things in day to day operations. Nothing earth-shattering, just curiosities. I found that if I keep trying to get the embed code for a Twitter/X post when I get the poodle on the red chair, eventually the pooch goes away and I get the code. The spraying of the skies they began here in Paradise Valley/Phoenix a week or so ago was thick this morning, yet the forecast is for “mostly sunny”, but some clouds every day for the next 10 days—and nary a drop of precipitation. Sigh.
